A “Exceptional” player from Liverpool “wants to leave” Anfield this summer and join a new team

Liverpool needs to take into account players who might leave the team even though they are trying to bolster their roster this month and in the summer. Three players are currently in the last half of their contracts as of right now. The outcast goalkeeper Adrián is scheduled to depart Anfield at the end of the current campaign. Unless new contracts are agreed upon, injured players Thiago and Joël Matip will also be leaving.

Liverpool star “ready to leave” in the summer transfer window

There might be more names on the list of people leaving, and Caoimhín Kelleher is one of the men who is supposedly looking to relocate. The Ireland international has been supporting Alisson, but he wants to play more frequently. Football Insider claims that the international is “ready to leave” Liverpool when the summer transfer window opens.

According to the report, the 25-year-old wants to move up to become the first choice by pursuing a role that comes with a guarantee at a new team. Naturally, Liverpool is unable to provide Kelleher with this, as Alisson continues to be the clear-cut starter in goal.

Although Jurgen Klopp is hesitant to let the Irishman leave this window, Celtic has recently expressed interest in him. Adrián, who hasn’t played for Liverpool since they won the Community Shield in 2022, is the only other senior goalkeeper on the roster after Kelleher.

As Liverpool aim to make the final, Klopp is a huge fan of Kelleher, who has proven himself this season by starting every Carabao Cup game and making appearances in both the Premier League and Europa League. Kelleher gave an incredible performance in the penalty shootout against Derby County during their Cup title defense the previous season, and Klopp was full of praise for his valor.

We never hold him back or say, ‘Caoimhin, you can’t play.’ He’s exceptional, absolutely exceptional,” the Liverpool manager said.

The goalkeeper coaches are doing an incredible job. He’s their product, and I’m sure they would say exactly the same. What they do with him, they develop a modern goalie. There are still a lot of goalkeeping years to come for him. If he can keep that record, it will be exceptional. It will be insane numbers. He did really well.” the manager of Liverpool added.
