After BCCI announced Shikhar Dhawan as the captain for the upcoming ODI series against West Indies, Aakash Chopra expressed surprise.

On his YouTube channel, Chopra put a number of questions to the BCCI.

The former India player is amazed by the BCCI’s decision to change captains as per the series.

He also said that changing captains will lead to a difference in perspective among players.

Chopra nonetheless is happy with Dhawan’s election as captain of the Indian cricket team but he still maintains some doubts.

This year, India has already seen six skipper changes.

Some of these are Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah.

Dhawan is now the seventh captain that India has changed this year.

For the T20Is, India is all set to retain a near-full member squad.

The only exception will be Virat Kohli who will probably be rested for the series.

Chopra also feels that a group of players need to gel well together so as to understand each other’s game.

And with the ICC T20 World Cup only four months away, the former player feels that players need to skip their rest and practice as much as they can before the marquee event.
