AC Milan have completed the signing of defender Malick Thiaw from Schalke. Thiaw joins Milan on a transfer of €7m in a five-year contract. and will wear the 28 shirt for his stint with AC Milan. The young defender was instrumental in Getafe’s return to the Bundesliga after a season in the second division. The German will now boost the defense of Milan along with Fikaya Tomori and Pierre Kalu

Thiaw joined Schalke when he was 14 years of age. Thiaw gained promotion to the first team at a very early age because of financial difficulties at the club. This gave him a wealth of experience. He played mostly a right center back in a three-man defence in his career at Schalke. Moreover, Thiaw is an aggressively physical player with a strong footballing sense. He possesses good 1v1 ability, as expected from someone who has faced opponents like Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland at a tender age. He also possesses superb off-the-ball movements and has a fantastic vision and interception with him.
