Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku would be “mad” to go anywhere else, especially with the news coming out regarding the Manchester United link. However, Nkunku hasn’t featured in a competitive match since being injured over the preseason knee injury. It kept him from being available for his summer switch from RB Leipzig. According to thehardtackle, the French forward is open for a United switch.
Manchester United approached him, but Chelsea would never sell and cannot even think of letting him go after the investment made in him and the promise he holds for Chelsea’s future. Chelsea fans and management have been eagerly waiting to see Nkunku back on the pitch since he has demonstrated with great consistency and versatility, his performance in the Bundesliga where much-needed options were provided upfront.
Nkunku in Chelsea
Nkunku’s reputation also tars his arrival at Chelsea, which will look forward to seeing the rare goal-scoring, vision, and dribbling ability that he showed in the Bundesliga. More particularly in the last season for RB Leipzig, he scored 16 and assisted six for greater options both in drive and accuracy in finishing. Then came some pre-season glimpses of Nkunku in Chelsea’s setup and, after that, this only fuelled the excitement as he showed his adaptability with such ease and speed to build up a great chemistry with other attacking players.
Chelsea and Nkunku have taken an injury blow that is very important recently, but his determination to regain fitness and come back stronger has impressed the club and fans greatly. Mauricio Pochettino has also explained how Nkunku would be central to the offense, with Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Nicolas Jackson.
Transfer links
Manchester United will always have an interest in Nkunku since they went through their share of torrid moments in attack going into this season. He could appeal to them as the excellent attacking player who would spice up their front line with a lack of consistency in providing attacking output. The possibilities of this player going to Old Trafford are extremely low. Chelsea’s long-term project is consistent with Nkunku’s intentions, and the club won’t let go of a player of his class before striking a dent.
For now, he is busy concentrating on his recovery, and the faith between the parties seems two-way as both parties would like a successful coexistence which can get the club back to the top of the Premier League and in the fray for Europe.
