Ajax boss Erik ten Hag could be the ideal replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the Manchester United boss.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer received a lot of criticism after the 4-2 Premier League defeat against Leicester City. But to his credit, his Manchester United side did manage a fantastic 3-2 comeback win against Atlanta in the Champions League.

On the other hand, Erik ten Hag’s Ajax managed a comfortable 4-0 victory against Borussia Dortmund. But his comments after the Champions League clash show that he can be the perfect replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United head coach.

Erik ten Hag has the right ‘mentality’ needed as Manchester United boss

Despite winning the game in a convincing way. Eric said his side will still take plenty of lessons from the game. “There is a lot to learn from this match,”  “There are so many learning moments I saw in this game. If we want to get further in the Champions League, we have to take notes.” Eric said after the match.

Erik has brought huge success to Ajax in recent years. He also led Ajax to the fantastic run to the Champions League semi-final in 2019. The dutch coach at Ajax has prioritised player development and preached an overarching philosophy. Manchester United hierarchy over the past 3 seasons has tried to reimplement the same things.

The Manchester United hierarchy still are fully backing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. And are hoping that the results will improve. Manchester United hierarchy believes that the players are ‘fully behind’ the manager. And have no intention to let him go.

Ajax’s record under Eric is exceptional and with the mentality, he has shown with his aftermath remarks, it shows that he can be perfect to take Manchester United to the next level.

While Manchester United hierarchy are still trusting Ole Gunnar, they face Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City in their next 3 Premier League fixtures. If Ole fails to deliver in the next few matches the stance of the United hierarchy can change very quickly.
