Alisson Becker’s absence: A crucial injury setback for Liverpool

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been ruled out until the end of March, dealing a significant blow to the Reds ahead of their upcoming fixtures. Assistant manager Pep Lijnders provided an update on Alisson’s fitness. He confirmed that the Brazilian international would be unavailable until after the March international break.

Alisson’s absence means Caoimhin Kelleher might continue in goal for Liverpool’s upcoming matches, including the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea. While Kelleher has proven himself to be a capable goalkeeper, losing Alisson is undoubtedly a setback for Liverpool.

In addition to Alisson, Liverpool will also be without several other key players for the Carabao Cup final. Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones, and Trent Alexander-Arnold will all be unavailable, adding to the Reds’ injury woes.

Liverpool’s path to Premier League title looks challenging

Despite the injury setbacks, Liverpool have managed to secure two wins in their previous two Premier League games. However, Alisson and other key players’ absence could prove to be challenging as the Reds push for Premier League title.

Lijnders also provided an update on the status of Dominik Szoboszlai, Mohamed Salah, and Darwin Nunez ahead of the final. He stated that they would need to be assessed closer to the game, but it would be great if they could be available.

Looking ahead, Liverpool have a number of important fixtures coming up. It includes a trip to face Everton and a home game against Manchester City. The Reds will also be competing in the FA Cup and have a fifth-round tie against Southampton.

While Alisson’s absence is a setback for Liverpool, Lijnders confirmed that the Brazilian goalkeeper could return after March international break. This means that he may be available for Liverpool’s game against Brighton & Hove Albion on 31st March.

Overall, Liverpool will need to navigate through their upcoming fixtures without Alisson and other key players. However, with the depth of their squad and the quality of their coaching staff, the Reds will be hoping to maintain their momentum and continue their push for the Premier League title.
