We bring you all the latest transfer rumors doing the rounds, with star players tipped to make a move. Cristiano Ronaldo, Antonio Rudiger, Youri Tielemans, Douglas Luiz, and many more are hotshots in the rumors, looking for a summer transfer.
Latest rumors on Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer plans
Manchester are planning a summer overhaul after another trophy-less season. However, what’s more, shocking is that the overhaul could see Cristiano Ronaldo leave United. Ronaldo’s last dance with the Red Devils hasn’t endured as planned. It’s quite obvious that the mercurial forward is not used to not winning trophies. Moreover, United are also at the risk of missing out on Champions League football next season. Surely, the competition’s record goalscorer won’t be compromising on it.
According to Football Insider, a fee is not the problem for United as they are willing to let Ronaldo depart for free, despite having one more year remaining on his contract. The reason is, that Manchester United will be reportedly saving a massive £25 million on Ronaldo’s wages. Rumors are that Porto are the latest in line to for securing Ronaldo’s transfer.
Antonio Rudiger a serious option for Barcelona
Chelsea center-back Antonio Rudiger‘s agents dropped a bombshell as they met Barcelona’s board members. Rudiger’s Chelsea contract is up by the summer, and no talks of extension have been heard. While sanctions on Chelsea have also piled misery on the club, Rudiger’s exit was long anticipated. Barcelona’s El Clasico rivals Real Madrid are also interested in signing Rudiger for free.
Moreover, Barcelona are also exploring the possibilities of signing two more Chelsea defenders. Andreas Christensen has reportedly agreed on a deal, whereas Cesar Azpilicueta is next on the Blaugranas’ list. Chelsea could suffer financially as well from their departures since all three defenders would be leaving for free.
Leicester hopes Tielemans stays who has a high demand
Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans has attracted a lot of fellow premier league clubs with his recent displays. Tielemans is excelling in the midfield for Leicester game after game. While Brendon Rodgers knows there are high probability that Tielemans leaves, the manager has some hope as well that the Belgian stays. Rodgers feels that Leicester have carved out a perfect summer transfer plan which could help them give a tough fight for a top-four finish next season.
But according to the latest rumors, Manchester United and Arsenal are the ones firmly interested in Tielemans’ transfer. If any of them, or both come calling in the summer, it would be hard for Tielemans to turn them down. Though Tielemans is not at the top of his game this season, his potential is not unknown. Still, Leicester are ready to do everything possible in convincing the Belgian to stay.
Lukaku could be on his way back to Inter
The least surprising of all the latest rumors, Lukaku wants a transfer away from Stamford Bridge. After just one season with the Blues, the Belgian striker wants a return to Inter. Lukaku has miserably failed to replicate the form for which Chelsea paid £100 million. Moreover, his interview with Sky Italia earlier this year has further deteriorated his relationship with the board.
Lukaku blamed Tuchel’s system for his poor form, stating Inter Milan was quite suitable for his game. Though he later apologized for the same, it looks like his comments haven’t been forgotten. To add to it, Tuchel handed Kai Havertz the number-9 role where the 22-year-old is succeeding. Calciomercato report that Inter are now working to bring back Lukaku, which will not be an easy operation.
Douglas Luiz to leave Aston Villa in the summer
Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard wants a holding midfielder in the summer, and as a result, Douglas Luiz could be cashed-on. The Brazilian has not impressed Gerrard much despite featuring regularly for Villa. Arsenal have previously shown interest in Luiz and could come back in the summer. Moreover, Gerrard has already identified Luiz’s replacement as well.
The Villa manager wants Leeds’ Kalvin Phillips at the club. Kalvin Phillips has extraordinarily progressed at Leeds, earning himself a spot in the England team. Not only a spot, but Phillips has also further cemented his place in Southgate’s playing eleven as well. However, Phillips has time and time again pledged his loyalty to Leeds. This could make it difficult for Aston Villa to sign him.
