“Almost there”: Chelsea’s injured star provides a positive update prior to his comeback

Pochettino

Following an ankle injury sustained last month, Robert Sanchez is making progress in his recuperation.

The 26-year-old took a knock during the match against Manchester United, but a few days later, he was substituted by Djordje Petrovic in the closing moments of the team’s 2-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park.

Sanchez had a scan a few weeks ago to figure out the best way to proceed with his recovery.

Mauricio Pochettino, the head coach, was relieved that surgery was not necessary. Sanchez has been easing his way back onto the Cobham grass ever since.

Sanchez shared a positive update on social media

Sanchez was in Cobham on Saturday morning and shared a post on social media with a positive update.

It read: “Nearly there!!”

Earlier this month, Pochettino said to reporters, “Yes, we are very happy because of the evolution.”

“Sanchez was on the pitch running. In the next few days, he is going to do some running to see how his knee reacts. But it is a very good and positive evolution.”
