Bayern left-back Alphonso Davies is the player to keep an eye on in the upcoming summer transfer window. Top clubs including Barcelona, Manchester United and Real Madrid are keen on signing the 24-year-old. The left-back has gone on to star in Germany in the recent years. He has been able to become a world-class player in his days in Bavaria. He is a regular first team player. At the same time, he also holds an important position in the Canadian national team. But recently he would reject to extend his contract. He will be a free agent next summer. As a result, big names in Europe are keeping tabs on the full-back.
A three-legged race unfolds…
Real Madrid were the first to register interest in luring away Alphonso Davies from Bayern. Los Blancos are keen to sign him as a long-term left-back option. Then, Manchester United would join the race to sign the 24-year-old. They were even considering to offer him a ‘blank cheque‘ to give them an edge past Madrid. But, their finances may not permit that. So they are eyeing Ben Chilwell as an alternative. Meanwhile, Barcelona have now also shown some interest in signing the left-back. The Canadian could reunite with his former manager Hansi Flick. At the same time recent reports suggest that the left-back favors joining Barcelona over Real Madrid.
Alphonso Davies could still stay at Bayern
The Bavarians would emerge victorious against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga. After the game, as per football-espana, Sporting Director Max Eberl would shed some light on to the matter. He would go on to suggest that Alphonso Davies could still renew his contract with Bayern. He would go on to say:
“There are options for him to renew”.
If the 24-year-old adjusts his wage demands, there are chances that he will stay in Germany. He is a crucial player for the Bavarians. So they wouldn’t want to lose him either. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see where he plays next.
