ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Analyst feel that Liverpool need to sell this £35million star in order to rehaul the midfield

Liverpool, Six Sports

Liverpool have a crucial game at hand tonight against Southampton which is a title-decider match for them.

If they succeed in winning the match, they still remain in the hunt for the title. However, a slipup here would force them to give up their quadruple dreams.

Liverpool have concerns with Mohammad Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Fabinho. However, Klopp would not risk playing them for this match.

The goal difference is out of the equation presently and Liverpool needs to win the match with any margin.

The substitutes have been doing quite some impressive work for Klopp for some matches now. Therefore, Klopp should have faith on his bench to start this game which includes Tsimikas, Joe Gomez and James Milner.

The Saints would be a tough test for the Reds. In their previous  Premier League match, the Reds looked shaky and were fortunate to scrape out a 2-1 win against Aston Villa.

Manchester City would lock horns with Villa in the penultimate match of the League this weekend and anything can happen. West Ham almost scared the title holders where they were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Any slip-up from City would be advantageous to Liverpool.

Moreover, Liverpool’s last game is also not going to be a stroll in the park. They face Wolves in their last fixture of the League.

Liverpool to release this midfielder this summer?

ECHO columnist John Aldridge feels that Liverpool are going to let off Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.

He has not been able to provide and get involved in the game for Liverpool as he should have. Therefore, he looks to be the prime candidate for leaving Anfield this summer.

He is relatively young- only 28 years old and he still has much to play for. However, he is not getting the much-needed game time at Liverpool.

Aldridge hopes that Liverpool gets the right amount of money for him. With that money, he hopes Liverpool’s midfield would be strengthened by buying a player. As he feels that Liverpool’s midfield needs to be strengthened.
