Andreas Christensen: Man Utd’s Ask To Barca

Andreas Christensen is now leading the news headlines as the Danish defender is wanted at Manchester United in the January transfer window.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, The Red Devils are among a number of clubs from the Premier League interested in the Barcelona defender.

He is close to return after being out for five months with injury. He has been getting a lot of attention from the English clubs. Manchester United are keen to sign him as they have made a contact as well.

Ronald Araujo has decided to stay at Camp Nou. As a result, Andreas has been seen to be leaving the group of talented defenders. Flick’s squad would surely miss the player.

Reportedly, Barcelona will be considering offers for both Andreas and Eric Garcia in the remaining weeks of January. There are no official offers yet from any sides. The Spanish side will be willing to improve their financial situation.

However, head coach Hansi Flick wants to keep Christensen. He has been impressed with the defenders passion for the game. But Barcelona are firm on their decision and open to listening to offers for the defender.

If Barca finally decide to sell the player, the Red Devils will be the side most interested in getting the defender.

Andreas Christensen Back To Premier League?

Manchester United are keen on signing the Danish centre-back. The Catalan club also open to offers in January.

The former Chelsea centre-back would surely fit in the squad. And he’ll bring his previous Premier League experience to the Old Trafford. At his time at the Blues, he played 93 games in the English top division.

The Danish international was linked to United with a move last year too. At that time, Erik ten Hag was at the Old Trafford. The Red Devils were actively looking for new centre-backs but at the end signed Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt.

The 28-year-old, who has a £430m release clause, will likely be available for a reduced price deal in the summer. The defenders contract at Camp Nou is in it’s final 18 months.

Ruben Amorim may be preferring to look for other options as well in the closing stages of the January transfer window. It remains to be seen if the progress in United’s interest in the Barca defender increases sooner.

The Portuguese mastermind is looking for a new left wing-back this January. He has set sights on the Paris Saint-Germain star Nuno Mendes. He managed Nuno at his time in Portugal.

Players like Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho now likely to be leaving Old Trafford. United’s transfer window solely depends on these player’s sales.

Manchester United CB’s Future

With the expected new arrivals in the squad, some United defenders may be heading out this window or in the summer eventually.

Harry Maguire has been important at times for the Red Devil’s manager Ruben Amorim in the recent weeks. The centre-back has had activated a 12-month contract extension. And with his current contract now due to run until June 2026.

Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans are both out of contract this summer. And are expected to leave the club this year. The duo are not in Amorim’s future long-term plans. Although Evans could likely be offered a coaching role.

Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro are all seen as vital players for the club. These players almost certain to stay at Old Trafford this summer. Although, due to the potential exits of Evans and Lindelof, at least one player is expected to arrive in that area of the game this summer.

Christensen in the traditional RED colors of Man Utd, will be an exciting watch. Surely there will be some Utd players exiting. There may be new arrivals of the potential transfer targets as well. There will be a huge business to deal with for the club this transfer window.
