Nick Candy is among the names who have emerged as a probable candidate to takeover Chelsea ownership. He is intending to finish the takeover of the English giant after Roman Abramovich decided to sell the club.

Abramovich has recently announced his decision to sell Chelsea after nearly 20-years of ownership of the club. Soon after his official statement, a number of potential candidates have emerged. Meanwhile, the most recent name that came out was that of British billionaire Nick Candy.

Nick Candy as a potential buyer

Nick Candy’s name has come up as a potential new Chelsea owner. He is not well-known so much in football. Chelsea fans are interested in him and what he does ahead for the Blues’ side.

Nick Candy is a property billionaire by profession. Meanwhile, he is reportedly looking forward to expanding his portfolio into English sports. Moreover, football looks to be the thing that he alongside his brother Christian and other potential investors is interested in pursuing.

As per The Sun, Candy has a net worth of £830million. As a result of his own value, he is looking forward to trying to form an association to place a joint offer for the club.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Abramovich has set £3billion as the required asking price. So, Nick has to meet this demand to convince the Russian businessman to sell the English club to him.

Meanwhile, in 1999, the duo founded a luxury property development company named Candy & Candy. However, in 2018, the company was later renamed Candy Property. This name reflected Nick’s sole ownership of the company.

As per Birmingham Live, his best-known development projects, include London’s One Hyde Park, NoHo Square. Moreover, he also did the redevelopment of the former Chelsea Barracks.

Meanwhile, Candy also runs a private investment fund called Candy Ventures. This venture has interests in a number of technology start-ups.

Other potential candidates for buying Chelsea

Chicago Cubs owner Thomas Ricketts has also joined Candy on the list of new owners. The Raine Group has also reportedly put an offer on the table for the current European and World Champions.

Meanwhile, The Chelsea fans have a lot of expectations from their new owners. So, time will tell who will become the next owner of the English giant.
