Manchester United seems to trust the Ole process till now, but in future, if he showed the way out then Antonio Conte will be happy to take the job. While the Italian coach has already expressed his plans on who will be his first signing in the United team.
The Red Devils are currently struggling in the Premier League as they go without a win in their last 3 games. In their last league match, United suffered a horrific defeat of 4-2 against Leicester City despite equaling the score in the 82nd minute.
While United have been saved late in the Champions League matches by their front runner Cristiano Ronaldo. If the Portuguese was not present against Villareal and Atlanta it would have been a defeat for the Red Devils. Following which they would have stayed last in their Champions League group.
However, despite these half-decent performances, the Manchester United board is still trusting Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with his tactics. But if in near future Ole is seen failing miserably, then United has a favorite to take up the job, Antonio Conte.
The Italian is currently jobless after tearing his contract with Inter Milan this summer. Conte was linked with Tottenham Hotspur’s job but he reportedly turned down the offer saying he wants a winning project. Now as per reports, Conte will be happy to take up the Manchester United job if he is offered that.
While the Italian has already expressed his plans on making his former player, Nicolo Barella his first signing at Manchester United. The midfielder had impressed Conte at Inter Milan and he would like to use Barella’s talent in the United midfield.
Conte’s probable first Manchester United signing is set to sign a contract extension
Nicolo Barella is considered an important part of Inter Milan’s future as the club is considering offering a contract extension. Barella’s current contract with Inter will be ending in 2024. But the club wants to add more years to that as they plan to table a contract extension.
As per reports, Inter Milan will be increasing Barella’s wages after his performances last season. While the report also suggests the club will be handing the captain duty to Nicolo Barella after Samir Handanovic leaves.
