Real Betis in Pole Position for Brazilian Star Antony from Manchester United.
Manchester United appear to be closing in on a deal for Antony
Manchester United are nearing a deal for the €100m Antony. With multiple reports suggesting that Real Betis are likely to make an agreement.
The Brazilian winger joined United from Ajax in 2022. He came for a big transfer fee. Since joining Betis on loan in January, he has got himself back to his best form. He has been an important player for the La Liga side during their nine-game unbeaten run. That includes a big win at European giants Real Madrid. And a key draw with La Liga leaders Barcelona.
The Brazilian is involved in eight goals so far this campaign. The supporters in Spain have showed their support for the player. And the Betis bosses have also trusted him with more playing time.
The Spanish clubs CEO Jose Miguel Lopez Catalan has shared an update on the forward’s future. He also hinted that the former Ajax forward is surely to be part of their plans for next campaign.
United preparing for key summer changes
Over at Old Trafford, a big summer change is going to happen. As things stand, the new manager Ruben Amorim has to sell before he buys. As Utd will have a tight budget for the June transfer window.
In the summer, a number of stars will leave as free agents. Those include Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof, and Christian Eriksen. While the Red Devils are looking too cash-in players like Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund.
The 25-year-old Brazilian striker is also on that list. And Betis would love to keep him as it seems. Although, no one knows if it will be a permanent move or another loan deal. However, this time they will have an option or obligation to buy.
Either way, a large money signing is likely on the way out. United are looking to raise funds. And give Amorim a free hand to make new signings as per his system. For Antony, it may be the chance he needs to show his talent and quality again in Spain.
