Former batsman and legend of Indian cricket, Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun has decided to switch places to Goa for the next domestic season.
Sachin is excited about this shift and said that this will give Arjun more game time.
The former player also said that this new step will give Arjun a chance to play more competitive games in the future.
Arjun is also attending the training session of the Goa team.
So, if everything falls into place for the youngster, then he will be picked to represent Goa in the next domestic season.
Right now, Goa is in need of a professional left-arm pacer and Arjun has shown much interest.
Goa Cricket Association President Suraj Lotilkar has said that if Arjun fits the team’s requirements, then he will be picked for the sure. But the final decision rests with the selectors.
Usually, Goa prefers to select professional cricketers over other non-professionals.
Arjun has represented Mumbai in just two T20 games so far.
Arjun has also never played for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL as well.
The reason for Arjun’s non-inclusion in Mumbai’s Ranji squad is because of the multitude of talented players before him.
This season, he was a part of Mumbai’s squad in Ranji’s league stages.
However, he was overlooked during the knockouts of the Ranji Trophy.
Salil Ankola has also wished Arjun all the best for his new start with Goa.
But before the Ranji Trophy, Arjun has another chance to prove himself and that is in two months.
The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be held from the 11th to the 22nd of October.
Goa finished fourth in the last season of the Ranji Trophy in Elite Group D.
