Arsenal and Manchester United have both made it to the last 4 of the Europa League. Arsenal have set a meet with their former manager Unai Emery by defeating Slavia Prague. Meanwhile Manchester United played out Granada to qualify for the semi-finals of Europa League 2020-21.
Talking about the Gunners first, they astonishingly thrashed Slavia in the 2nd leg of the quarter-finals as they scored 4 goals. In the first leg, Slavia had drawn with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium and they came into the second leg with high hopes. Unfortunately, Gunners had different ideas for them.
Arsenal might be having a tough season under Mikel Arteta but they put on a devastating performance last night. They will now face their former boss Unai Emery as Arsenal face Spanish side Villarreal in the semi-finals.
On the Other hand, we have Manchester United, who looked pretty comfortable over both the legs against Granada. The Red Devils qualified for the semifinals winning on an aggregate of 4-0 scoring twice in each leg. The former Premier League champions will be looking ahead to face Italian club Roma as they tie horns with them for the semi-final clash.
Who are the Favourites to win the UEFA Europa League this year:
Looking at the clubs left in the competition Manchester United probably looks the strongest side on papers. The Red Devils have not won any silverware under Ole Gunnar Solskjær and they will be eager to cling on this one. Manchester United, who are currently 2nd in the Premier League have faced Roma 6 times and have won 4 of them and lost only 1. They will be looking to register another victory over them when they meet for the first leg in the semi-finals.
However, Arsenal, who have had a disappointing run in the Premier League, sit on 9th in the domestic league table. They will be looking to end their season with some silverware as they get ready to face Villarreal, who were guided to the 4th spot in the La Liga table by the Gunners former coach Unai Emery.
It is tough to bet on teams in Europa League as European competition never shy away from surprises. Although, Manchester United looks favourites to win the Tournament but Arsenal, Roma, and Villarreal are not far behind.
