According to Calcimercato, Arsenal and West Ham United both look forward to signing Filip Kostic in the summer. The Serbian has only 18 months left in his contract which makes him an interesting option for other clubs too. Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Lazio, and Fiorentina are all monitoring the situation.

Kostic has enjoyed a fairly productive season at Frankfurt as he has scored 3 goals and assisted 9 in 22 appearances in all competitions. Moreover, Inter Milan may also try to sign the player in January. This makes it a little tough for Arsenal and West Ham. Both the clubs are fighting for a Champions League spot for next season.

It will be the first Champions League season for Arsenal or West Ham in a very long time. Moreover, any club would want to stay and win the Champions League. Therefore, both clubs want to recruit players who will help them through this process. Filip Kostic is now being considered by both the clubs and that can encourage healthy competition between Arsenal and West Ham.

Kostic can be signed for a bargain considering that his contract is due to expire in 18 months’ time. Moreover, he is also a great option to have as a backup or for cup games. He can even challenge for a place in the first team as he has shown glimpses of what he is capable of.

What can Filip Kostic provide Arsenal and West Ham?

Kostic is a player who can play on either of the flanks and both Arsenal and West Ham will need depth in their squad if they are to challenge in all competitions. He will be a great option to do that and provide much more to the squad. Kostic will challenge for a place in the playing 11 which will also motivate the other players to perform well.

He takes 2 shots per game and makes 2.7 key passing while completing 1.1 dribbles per game. He also crosses the ball 3.3 times and attempts 2 long balls per game. Moreover, he also makes 1.3 tackles per game (stats via whoscored). This shows that he can contribute to each department and has more quality than becoming a utility player.

Both the clubs might also sell some players and Kostic will be a good option to replace them. His crossing ability will complement the English game where a good cross can swing the result of the game. It will be interesting to see how Arsenal and West Ham fit Kostic in their system and can he adapt to the English setting.

Filip Kostic will play a huge role in chance creation for both Arsenal and West Ham as he created the second most chances in 2021. He can supply more to the strikers of the Gunners and the Hammers which will help them to outscore the opponents. He can be an important player for any club he goes to if he keeps up this form and continues to create chances.
