Arsenal are interested in signing RB Liepzig defender Mohamed Simakan in the summer transfer window, according to Chris Wheatley.
Speaking on National World YouTube Challenge, the journalist claimed that Simaken will be heading to Arsenal in the summer. Mikel Arteta will to try sign him as the defender suits his style of play.
Wheatley also stated that Arsenal are looking for a young and athletic right-back that suits the Premier League. He further claimed:-
“We know they’re looking at Mohamed Simakan, he’s a player they really do like, he is on the shortlist and Mikel Arteta will try to bring that player in this summer.
“Arsenal are looking for a right-back below the age of 24, they want someone athletic who suits that Premier League, fluid style that Arteta likes to play.”
Simaken ticks all the bills in terms of what Arsenal are looking for. His quick pace will suit the Premier League style of play.
The 23-year-old is very assured of his own strength and speed. Arsenal need to reinforce their right-defensive flank to strengthen their team.
According to The Speed Database, Simaken has clocked in a top speed of 20.64 Mph, which is absolutely rapid and quicker than some of the world’s best footballers. He would absolutely beast at the right-flank for Arsenal, and at the just young age of 23, he has the room to grow and improve as well.
Simaken would be perfect addition to Arteta’s squad. He will be crucial for Gunners as they’ll participate in Champions League next season.
