Arsenal have made only two signings this season to improve their team, and they are very close to signing another player before the transfer market ends.
Currently the best signing they have done is they have signed a new defender, Riccardo Calafiori. The Gunners always needed a new defender as their defense looked week sometimes in the last season.
Last year in the transfer window they did major signings and spent a lot of money; they signed a defensive midfielder Declan Rice, an attacking midfielder Kai Havertz, and defender Jurrien Timber. They also signed a goalkeeper on loan and made him permanent in this transfer window.
Arsenal have played the best football in the last two seasons, finishing second in the Premier League after Manchester City. In both seasons they have lost the league to Manchester City, and with a margin of a gap, the Gunners being unable to beat the City can be because of several reasons. On the other side, the Manchester City team only knows winning; they have won the league four times in a row, which is mind-blowing. For Gunners, beating Manchester City to win the league is the only challenge they are focusing on, and to that end, they are improving those places that were weak, like the left back position and midfield position.
Gunners will sign only those players that they need.
In the 2022–23 season, Arsenal lost the league to City by just five points, losing in one, and it cost them the league title. After that season, they strengthened their team in every area they thought it needed; they signed David Raya for the goalkeeper position from Brentford on loan; they also signed defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax to improve the defense; they also signed two midfielders, Declan Rice as a defensive midfielder from West Ham and Kai Havertz as an attacking midfielder from Chelsea.
The reports have confirmed that Arsenal are getting very close to signing their third player of this summer transfer window and are getting close to making a team that will be hard to beat.
