Arsenal-City match has been a bland encounter as pointed out by pundit

Manchester City and Arsenal fans were upset once more on Sunday. Since, the two top Premier League teams, along with Liverpool, played out a dull goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium.

Both teams lacked goal-scoring opportunities during the 90 minutes. Thus, making the draw a fair outcome. Arsenal might claim superiority in chances, especially with Gabriel Jesus squandering opportunities upfront.

The Gunners once again showcased an impressive defensive display, securing their second clean sheet against the champions this season. It’s noteworthy that City had previously scored in 57 consecutive home games before Sunday’s encounter.

What did former Arsenal player comment about the match?

Theo Walcott, a former Gunner, was part of the Sky Sports studio coverage for the top-of-the-table clash. Like everyone else watching, he expressed disappointment with the match.

Walcott stated: “Arsenal didn’t do enough to win the game – neither did City. That is why it was very frustrating for the fans to watch and for us up here. We wanted a little bit more from the players.”

Walcott suggests that the international break could be responsible. With no matches for nearly three weeks, including Arsenal FA Cup exit, both teams lacked intensity.

He further stated: “There’s always an element after the international break players tend to come back lethargic and haven’t prepared well enough, maybe that’s what we saw out there today.”

“Arsenal, they got a result. That is a result. Yes, they want to win of course, but you come to Man City and you get a result and you frustrate them.”
