The summer is fast approaching and so are the rumors of transfers and signings. Arsenal are among the clubs who are surrounded by a lot of rumors as well as news. The gunners are anticipating another blockbuster summer after the success of last term’s £150 million spendings. Arsenal have now made Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard their top priority for the summer.
It may come as a shocker for many, but the Belgian is on the verge of leaving the Los Blancos. Hazard has already endured torrid two-and-a-half years at Real and is now looking for a way out. His switch from Chelsea to Madrid was expected to be a fairytale for both Hazard and the Spanish giants. However, the move has turned to be a nightmare instead of a fairytale. But Arsenal could offer a glimmer of hope for Eden Hazard coming summer.
An exit looking more likely for Hazard
Hazard joined Real Madrid in a mouthwatering deal of £103.50 million from Chelsea. The winger had always hinted that Real was his dream destination and that he wanted to don the Madrid whites. But since making the move, everything went disastrously for both Hazard and Real. Regular injuries have kept Hazard sidelined for the better part of his Madrid career.
The former Chelsea man has missed a massive 61 games for Real, further playing in only 65. Moreover, Hazard has played a mere 22 games this season out of which only 8 have been started by him. Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr has stepped up brilliantly in Hazard’s absence for Real and is in undroppable form. This could further limit Hazard’s playing time with the Spanish side. Only an exit would see him get regular minutes and the winger is contemplating the same.
Arsenal could get Eden Hazard for a mere £33.5 million?
Arsenal are ready to scoop in for Eden Hazard as Mikel Arteta is said to be a fan of the ex-Chelsea man. The Hazard-to-Arsenal rumors are making rounds since last summer but could be a reality this time out. According to Spanish outlet AS, Real Madrid are planning a summer haul of the squad. There is a long list of players Los Blancos plan to sell. Marcelo, Isco, Gareth Bale, Jesus Vallejo, Luka Jovic, Marino Diaz, Dani Ceballos and Hazard have all made the list.
Arsenal can make life easy for Real if they snap-up Eden Hazard. And the gunners would have to pay a fee of only £33.5 million for the Belgian. Real struck a deal with Chelsea which saw them pay the Blues £89 million upfront. The remaining £60 million will be paid by Real as the add-ons. As of now, £33.5 million is yet to be paid and Madrid could churn that out from Hazard’s sale to Arsenal. The gunners who still highly rate the 31-year-old consider the amount as payable.
Eden Hazard reportedly shares a special bond with Arsenal attacker Martin Odegaard. The gunners are ready to utilize that friendship as they hope Odegaard will convince Hazard to sign for the North Londoners. Arsenal are planning to make the first contact for Eden Hazard this summer as they look to bolster their squad. Arteta’s men are on track for a top-four finish, earning them Champions League qualification. Another aspect that could help them bring Hazard to the Emirates.
