Arsenal Contemplate Swap Deal Amid £25 Million January Transfer Agreement

Arsenal‘s manager, Mikel Arteta, and technical director, Edu, are making a final effort to bolster the squad. The Gunner have been financially constrained this month. They have already spent over £200 million during the summer on signings like Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, and Kai Havertz. Injuries, especially in defense, have further complicated Arsenal’s season, prompting them to explore potential loan deals. They also consider a potential swap deal involving Thomas Partey.

Despite financial constraints and a lack of new signings, Arsenal have linked them to high-profile names this January. Players like Ivan Toney from Brentford, Victor Osimhen from Napoli, and Martin Zubimendi have all surfaced as potential targets. The latest addition to the rumor mill is Leicester‘s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. He has garnered attention from various Premier League clubs due to his impressive performances in the Championship. These include Brighton, Brentford, and Fulham.

Arsenal Keeps Tabs on Dewsbury-Hall Amid £25 Million Agreement

Reports suggest that Arsenal have shown interest in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, a standout performer for Leicester City in this season’s Championship. While Brighton appears to be in discussions for his signature this January, Arsenal are closely monitoring the situation. Dewsbury-Hall has made a significant impact on Leicester’s Championship campaign, tallying nine goals and nine assists in 31 appearances.

Fulham and Brentford, both London-based clubs, are also eyeing Dewsbury-Hall. However, Brentford have made a notable move by nearing a £25 million deal for Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge. This transfer could influence the race for Dewsbury-Hall. However, the resources allocated to Nusa might discourage Tottenham, who have negotiated for his signature.

Arsenal, with its sights set on Dewsbury-Hall, could potentially secure the 25-year-old midfielder. Thus bolstering their midfield options and addressing Arteta’s need for a Granit Xhaka successor.

Uncertain Future for Thomas Partey and the Potential Swap Deal

While Arsenal continue to pursue potential January targets, uncertainty surrounds the future of Thomas Partey. Reports of his departure have emerged, with Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad mentioned as possible destinations. However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano suggests that there are no imminent developments regarding a January move for Partey.

According to Romano,

“Despite what’s being reported by some sources in Spain, I’m not aware of anything happening right now with Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey… for January, it looks very quiet.”

Nevertheless, a future departure for Partey is on the horizon. Real Sociedad’s interest in Partey offers an intriguing possibility for Arsenal, potentially leading to a swap deal involving Martin Zubimendi.

Zubimendi’s release clause is at £52 million. If Real Sociedad’s interest in Partey persists into the summer, Arsenal may have an opportunity for a swap deal. Thus adding to their midfield options.
