Arsenal defender William Saliba has said that he wants to give back the love fans gave him at the start of the season. The Frenchman has made a brilliant start to the season.

However, he is looking to maintain the same form throughout the whole season. The Gunners fans are also hoping that he will sign a new contract with the club.

This also gives an indication that Arteta is ready to give chances to youngsters if they impress in their loan spells. He further said,

The chant? Yeah, of course I’ve heard it [laughs]. I heard it since the beginning”. “I want to give them [the fans] back everyday I’m on the pitch. So, thank you for that.”

Arsenal manager also is optimistic that the defender will soon begin talks on his contract extension. However, he adds that the current focus is to win both the games before the break for the World Cup.

The Arsenal defender will also hope to include in the France national team for the World Cup. Hence, the negotiations on a new contract are likely to start during the January transfer window. Although, a number of reports have claimed that Gunners are in constant conversation with his agent.
