According to the Football Fan Cast, Arsenal duo of Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson can leave the club this summer. Arsenal will be seeing many departures this summer transfer window. Now we can say two more names are added in the list. Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson are looking for new clubs as they are not included in Mikel Arteta’s plans for next season. The duo earns a combined of £200,000-per-week for the club. Both the players find it difficult to make to the starting lineup last season. They also struggled with consistent game under Arteta the entire season. Last season Arsenal nearly missed out on winning the Premier League again. They ended as runners up for the second time in a row losing to Manchester City in both the seasons. Arsenal were also eliminated in the Champions League quater finals against their old rivals Bayern Munich.
Arsenal ended the last season trophyless. However they still have the support of their fans all around the world. This same Arsenal was a very struggling club just a couple of years ago. Arsenal have improved a lot under Mikel Arteta’s reign and a trophy is very near for the gunners. One of the best things for Arsenal that improved under Mikel Arteta is their defensive record. Last season Arsenal had the best defensive record in Premier League. The duo of William Saliba and Gabriel deserves the most credit for this achievement. William Saliba has cemented himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League. The French defender stood like a wall all season in Arsenal defense. Saliba also got a call up from French national team for their Euro 24 campaign. Saliba continued his form in the Euros as well after France kept an amazing defensive record.
Arsenal duo close to leaving
Mikel Arteta is a very lucky manager when it comes to signing players. The manager made signings like Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and all of them proved to be great signings. These signings are the reason Arsenal are challenging for trophies every season. Declan Rice also deserves the credit for the amazing defensive record of Arsenal. The former West Ham captain bring stability to the Arsenal midfield. Rice’s ability to break attacks in the midfield and keep possession of the ball is very valuable for both Arsenal and England. Rice was also called up by Gareth Southgate along with his teammate Saka for Euros. Both the players were regular starters for the three lions and integral part of the squad. Many fans criticize Gareth Southgate for not using Declan Rice properly in the midfield. Mikel Arteta will hope that his players manage to keep their form from last season.
After all these signings Arsenal will also be departing two players from their squad. Emile Smith Rowe is very close to joining Fulham this summer. This is a very shocking news as Arsenal is Rowe’s boyhood club. It is a very sad moment for a player to leave his boyhood club. However the player believes he can reignite his career under Marco Silva in Fulham. The player was also struggling for game time under Mikel Arteta last season. Emile Smith Rowe may end up joining Fulham in £35 million deal. The duo of Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah are also close to leaving the club this summer. Eddie Nketiah is approached by French club Marseille for transfer this summer. Both players are finding it difficult to get playing time under Mikel Arteta. It will be a wise decision for the players to move somewhere else to get regular play time.
