The Daily Monitor, a Ugandan media said that the clash happened between the two fans when the match was going on between the Gunners and Liverpool. The match took place in the Emirates stadium. The altercation happened between the two the previous weekend. Date was 27th October.
Mo Salah after coring the late goal which equalized against Arsenal celebrated with a knee slide. The Liverpool fan who as watching, name was Benjamin Okello. He reportedly threw some popcorn at the Arsenal fan. The Gunners fan got very mad at this. The name of the Gunners fan is reportedly said to be Onan. He met with the Liverpool fan Benjamin Okello and then hit him with a stick which later caused his death. The situation escalated very quickly because the Liverpool fan threw popcorn at the Arsenal fan.
During the morning, after the altercation was over, Kaharo Sub County Chairperson, Mr. Edmond Tumwesigye reported about this incident and confirmed it.
He said that there were altercations between two men in the Kyobugombe trading centre. The man who was hit with the stick after the incident was rushed to the Bukinda Health Care centre and then he was taken to Rugarama Regional Referral Hospital. Benjamin Okello died there.
The People who saw the incident says that it happened in a video party where many fans were going to see the match.
