Arsenal are getting closer to sign to Declan Rice as David Ornstein discusses other possible options for Gunners in the summer.

As per Football transfers, ongoing negotiations for Declan Rice are getting closer to completion. The reports also suggests that the West Ham star is getting more and more closer to move to the Emirates ahead of next season.

Arsenal are willing to pay £80 million for Rice. The England International has been described as ” a diamond and a fabulous player ” by former Manchester United player Owen Hargreaves.

Arsenal do have a very good and solid midfield department, Rice would be another valuable for manager Mikel Arteta. The West Ham star will make Gunners a better and stronger team in the middle of the park.

Ornstein discusses about other targets for Arsenal in the summer

David Ornstein discussed about other possible options other than Rice. He said SkySports:-

“Arsenal will have added impetus coming into this window, with the added revenues of Champions League football. The Kroenkes have already been investing heavily in the transfer market at Arsenal in recent years, in particular since they took full control of the club.

“So, I don’t think this apparent (£200m) war chest is a reaction to what’s happened, it’s a continuation of what they have been doing. Their ambitions are going to be high because they are playing in a higher level of competition.

“Their interest in Rice is well documented, they will have competition for his signing. They looked into it in January, similarly with Caicedo. I’m not sure they are going to be able to do both financially, but clearly, the interest is there.

“I think they want a creative midfielder if possible as well, that’s why the likes of Mason Mount have come on their radar, but so too other clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United.”
