Arsenal gives updates on key players injuries after Man City clash

Arsenal

After drawing with Manchester City, Arsenal faces a quick turnaround for their next Premier League match. Despite a goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium, a win would have propelled them back to the top of the league.

Liverpool’s victory over Brighton propelled them to the top of the Premier League table, overtaking Arsenal. The Gunners now sit in second place, trailing Liverpool by two points and leading Man City, who are third, by one point.

Mikel Arteta and his team will take a break and gear up for their match against Luton Town on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, Arsenal aims to have a mostly fit squad for the game at the Emirates Stadium. Football.london has provided an update on the current injury status.

Arsenal saw the return of key player during City match

Bukayo Saka pulled out of the England squad due to a hamstring issue during the international break. Although he started for Arsenal against Man City, he was substituted late, raising concerns. Arteta clarified that Saka was dealing with fatigue rather than an injury.

Gabriel Martinelli was in the sidelines for Arsenal’s previous match against Porto due to a foot injury. He utilized the international break for recovery and was on the bench against Man City. Martinelli substituted Saka in the second half without apparent new injury concerns.

Jurrien Timber has been recuperating from an ACL injury he suffered in August last year. Despite signing with Arsenal from Ajax last summer, he has only made two appearances. It’s uncertain when Timber will return this season, but he is progressing in the later stages of recovery.
