Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is not joining Wolves this summer. As per the report published by BBC News, Ramsdale’s move to Wolves was off, after the club failed to meet the price tag for him. Wolves linked with Ramsdale for a possible loan move with an option to buy in the future for £25m. But for now, that deal is off and Wolves are not interested in going further.
The move of Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to Wolves is off
Aaron Ramsdale joined Arsenal in 2021 from Sheffield United and still has two years left in his contract with the Gunners. In the first season, the English international made 37 appearances in all competitions followed by 41 appearances the next season. He also made 5 appearances for the Three Lions after making his debut in 2021.
But the last season was a disaster for Aaron Ramsdale. At the start of last season, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta brought in David Raya from Brentford on loan. And at the start of this season’s transfer window, David Raya completed his permanent move to Arsenal. Immediately the Spaniard became Arsenal’s first-choice keeper and benched Aaron Ramsdale. Ramsdale made only 6 appearances last season in the Premier League. So, the 26-year-old is looking for a new club for more playing time.
Wolves came to the rescue of Ramsdale. Arsenal were also interested in selling Aaron Ramsdale but the deal is now off due to the price tag of Aaron Ramsdale. Wolves generated more than £100m in this summer transfer window after selling two of their star players, Pedro Neto and Max Kilman. But despite generating this much money, still they have a very tight budget. That’s why Ramsdale’s move did not happen.
Meanwhile, this creates more problems for Ramsdale. The transfer window is about to end within three days. And if the 26-year-old fails to find a new home, then it will be very hard for him to get sufficient playing time.
More Arsenal stories
Arsenal just completed the move of Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad for £32m. The Spaniard signed a four-year contract with the Gunners. Mikel Merino’s signing is the third new signing of this summer for Arsenal and probably the last one as the transfer window is about to close.
Eddie Nketiah’s move to Nottingham Forest was broken down after the club failed to finalize all the personal terms with Nketiah. Same as Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah also wants to leave Arsenal for more playing time. After the forest deal has broken down, now Crystal Palace is chasing the striker. Crystal Palace offered £3om to Arsenal for Eddie Nketiah.
Arsenal won all the games of this new season till now after beating Wolves away at home, followed by beating Aston Villa away from home, Arsenal beat Aston Villa last week by 2-0 at Villa Park, maintaining their perfect start in the new Premier League season. After losing the title to Manchester City in the last two seasons, Mikel Arteta is certainly going for the ultimate glory once again. Up next, Arsenal faces Brighton at Emirates this weekend.
