After what felt like an eternity of injury-induced heartburn, Arsenal may soon be (relatively) whole again, with five key players returning in time for next week’s match against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. As the latest Arsenal Injury Update reveals, Raheem Sterling is returning Occasion in Nano with Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Riccardo Calafiori.
News of some main players coming back is just what Arsenal needs at this juncture. Sterling has been one of Arsenal’s most valuable players this season, providing key goals and width in attack. As the Christmas holiday season approaches, it comes at a vital moment for the team. We can criticize Sterling, but we can’t deny that he has been a key player for Arsenal for many years.
Mykhailo Mudryk has stood out this season in the Champions League. He may be reunited with Arsenal at around 40 million pounds. We reckon that this Ukrainian winger may be for sale now. Arsenal, too, will mount a late swoop for West Ham United’s midfield sensation Declan Rice, who has enjoyed such an inspiring season. Moises Caicedo is also on Arsenal’s interest list. He is from Ecuador. As per reports, 60 million pounds is the amount. Arsenal is also looking for Brighton’s impressive midfielder, Yves Bissouma, whose value is 40 million pounds. He hails from Mali. Arsenal can also release Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has been inconsistent for quite some time. It also seems Arteta doesn’t like him too much. It looks like fashion style is not the only weakness he has.
Arsenal Injury Update: Good and Bad News for Arsenal
The return of Sterling, Saka, Rice, Tomiyasu, and Calafiori is a positive thing, but Arsenal still have a few wanting in the treatment room. Arsenal is without Thomas Partey due to a thigh problem, and Kieran Tierney is still due to a shoulder issue. Gunner’s full-back (left back) has made several appearances this season and has been sorely missed over the last few games.
On the other hand, Nottingham Forest also seeks to spring a shock at the Emirates Stadium. Liverpool is in poor form this season as well. They seem to be getting a bit better closer to the end. Forests’ manager Steve Cooper would like to take advantage of Arsenal’s injury issues by gaining a much-needed 3 points.
The Road to Recovery
According to the Arsenal Injury Update, the return of injured players to the pitch is a full-time gig for Arsenal’s medical team. Sterling, Saka, Rice, Tomiyasu, and Calafiori all return for what would be a deserved second chance. Arteta will hope that they soon prove their worth by hitting the ground running and preventing Arsenal from becoming a walking hospital.
In a recent interview, Arteta stated, “We are happy to have the players back. We went through a difficult spell, to be fair, but worked hard to get them back out on the pitch. We’re hopeful by the time Nottingham Forest comes around.”
Will they make a Week 1 splash and earn three points for Arsenal? Only time will tell.
