Arsenal’s defeat in the EFL:

Arsenal lost against the MagPies by 2-0 in the EFL Semi Final leg 2. The Gunners were also met with some injury blows as well. They were playing really bad as well. They really made many chances. However, it looks like they failed to convert all of those chances as well. Jacob Murphy then scored the goal for NewCastle United. He scored the goal from a rebound of Alexander Isak from the post. The next goal came from Anthony Gordon as well. That made it 2-0 for NewCastle United and they won the match.

Arsenal Latest Injury Updates:

Gabriel Martinelli was taken off right before half time. He is suffering from a muscle injury. He is suffering from a hamstring injury now according to reports. Martinelli was replaced by Ethan Nwaneri in the match. However, it looks like, Nwaneri did not make much impact on the field as well. He was really mediocre in that match.

When Arteta was asked about Martinelli, he said that yes it was a hamstring problem. He said that they need to do an MRI to check the extent of the injury as well. Saka suffered a hamstring injury. He is out since December as well ever since that Crystal Palace match vs Arsenal. When asked about him, Arteta said that he does not know when he will return to the team. Takehiro Tomiyasu is also out because of his knee injury as well. When asked about him, Arteta said that he will be out for a long time.

I think Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli return will be very crucial for Arsenal. Their squad depth have become a bit lower because those two players will not be available. Mikel Arteta is looking forward to make tactical changes to the team as well. In order to climb up the table, they need to stay consistent.
