MIKEL ARTETA WILL HAVE TO TRUST THE ABILITY OF ALBERT-SAMBI LOKONGA

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will have to trust the ability of his young midfielder Albert-Sambi Lokonga. The Belgian midfielder was signed by R.S.C. Anderlecht. However, the midfielder has failed to cement his place in the starting line-up. Hence, the midfielder was linked with a loan move to AC Milan. However, Arsenal decided to keep the midfielder.

They kept the midfielder after injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny. Thomas Partey is reportedly going to be out for a number of weeks. However, Elneny is going to be out of action for months. Hence, Sambi-Lokonga is now more than a squad player. The midfielder also started the game against Manchester United. Arsenal lost the game 3-1.

THE BELGIAN MIDFIELDER CAN STILL BE SUCCESSFUL AT ARSENAL

Despite the Gunners losing the game, Sambi-Lokonga looked comfortable on the ball. The midfielder was a little rough in his passes. However, that is understandable as the midfielder does not start many games. The Gunners had a number of options in the midfield at the start of the season. But, come fast forward Arsenal are struggling with injuries in the midfield department.

However, they have a brilliant player in the form of Lokonga to energize their midfield. His former manager and Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany has also heaped praise on the midfielder. He said,

“The first thing I did when I saw Sambi is I went to Mikel and also Pep, but Mikel first and said, ‘You got to watch this guy, he’s the new Yaya Toure.’

Hence, the glowing review can only be music to the ears of Arsenal fans. The Gunners fans and Mikel Arteta will be hoping that the midfielder keeps improving his performances in future matches. The Belgian midfielder can consider this part of the season as a make or a break for his Gunners career.
