Arsenal are showing interest to sign Leroy Sané from Bayern Munich. Talks are in place, but there hasn’t been any official bid. Bayern on the other hand haven’t extended his contract. His contract ends this summer and potentially Bayern are looking to extend it. The 29-year-old German winger has scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists in 39 appearances this season. He can operate in both wings, making him an important player for the club.
Now Arsenal are eyeing to sign him to strengthen their attack for the future. Bayern will decide to extend his contract within 1 to 3 weeks as Arsenal press on their star player. Leroy Sané wishes to stay at the club while Arsenal are in talks with the player even before the summer window.
Sané is a proven player in the premier league. He played for Man city under Guardiola for a long time. But eventually things fell apart between them and he joined the German side. Sané initially wasn’t a starter at Bayern, but he gradually improved to become an important player for them. Now his future is uncertain at the moment.
Why Arsenal push to sign Leroy Sané?
Arsenal appointed a new sporting director for their club in March. He is supposedly linked with the transfer of Leroy Sané. Andrea Berta, the new sporting director is known for his signings during his time at Atletico Madrid. He brought Julian Alvarez, David Villa, Luis Suarez , Antoine Griezmann and many others who helped Atletico to win 2 league titles.
Berta now wants a creative player, a number 10 in his squad. A player to play the ball in the middle and also operate wide open. Sané’s versatility to play on both the wings, makes him a suitable candidate. Due to his current form his market value has been dropped by 7 million, which is a major downgrade this season . Fans are wondering, “Is this another Luis Suarez signing?”
Luis Suarez is one the greatest striker in football in this generation. He was once considered a failure for Barcelona and they opted to sell him out. Berta signed Suarez for Atletico and he went on to win the La Liga beating Real Madrid and Barcelona. Arsenal fans can expect Sane to repeat the same under Arteta. Even though Arsenal is a rich club who are know for their spendings, they won’t splash the cash on all free transfers.

Arsenal will have to look for other opportunities as well. They are already planning to go all in for Alexander Isak this summer. They need a creative player as well as striker. Throughout the years Arsenal consistently failed to sell players for a large fee. Also player’s performance significantly drop after joining Arsenal. Gabriel Jesus is the best example for that.
If Arsenal really wants to sign Sane, they must buy him as cheap as possible. They have to look for other strikers as well who are relatively cheaper than Isak. Spending more money on transfer market doesn’t make you win titles. Berta will ensure that they buy right players for the team.
