Arsenal squad rotation finally paying off for Arteta

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is quite happy after the Champions League result. The Arsenal squad rotation seems to be pretty valid for the manager.

ARSENAL 3-0 MONACO

In the qualification for the round of 16, Arsenal thrashed Monaco. They are closing into the round of 16 of the Champions League.

The hosts should have scored way before the first half. But, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard fired wide off the bar.

Arsenal already started to get hold of the game. Monaco could not deal with the attacks of the Gunners.

The second half was interesting. Monaco almost got Arsenal lacking in possession. The visitors were trying their best to get hold of the mistakes.

William Saliba accidentally gifted the possession to the opposition team.

Former Liverpool player Takumi Minamino picked Breel Embolo towards the penalty region, only for the Swiss striker to put it far wide.

Monaco keeper Majecki’s mistake costed them their first goal of the night.

Eventually, Arsenal got the composure back. A pass from Martin Odegaard to Saka, he did not hesitate to double their lead in the night.

The match was already beyond Monaco’s reach, when substitute Kai Havertz scored a late goal to make it 3-0.

This win has taken the Gunners to third place in the Champions League table trailing only behind Barcelona and Liverpool.

ARSENAL SQUAD ROTATION PAID OFF

Arsenal’s next game against Dinamo Zagreb is more likely to secure their qualification in the last 16. Mikel Arteta is eager for the team to have another win registered in their record in Europe.

Now that the Gunners are currently undefeated in their last 14 home games.

It can be said that it is turning out to be the best run for Arsenal under Arteta since an 18-game run under the great Arsene Wenger.

Arteta has stated that it is very tough to win in a competition like the Champions League. The team has pleased him in every aspect. The rotation of the squad has been quite worth it for the manager.

Myles, another youngster of 18 years of age, entered the competition and performed well.

He has probably earned the chance of the trust of Arteta. It will be really good for him to be part of this team for more composure and quality playstyle.

Saka has been playing at his best in the squad right now. He has been the star gunner of the squad. Saka has been dominating in the Premier League for the past few seasons. This season, he has taken his job more seriously and playing almost everywhere.

The Zagreb match will finally decide the spot for the round of 16 for the Gunners. Arteta is quite confident in his squad.

Saka, Odegaard, and Saliba all have been quite magnificent in this season. Now, that Arsenal are in the third position of the European table, they are pretty confident about the later matches.

AUTHOR’S OPINION

Arsenal are pretty much in a solid position in the Champions League table. With only Liverpool and Barcelona ahead of them, they only have to defeat Zagreb to be the third team to qualify for the round of 16.

This squad might be inconsistent with the injuries, but I think Arteta already knows it. The injuries have been concerning many teams.

Arsenal has their composure in the present state. They don’t want to have a downfall from here. Mikel stated that they could have scored more if not for the mistakes.

So, the European stage is supposedly looking interesting for the Gunners being part of the race.

Time will say, what awaits for the Gunners and Mikel Arteta in the future.
