Arsenal submit opening bid for Ferdi Kadioglu

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal’s sporting director Edu are working hard to bring some of the top talents in North London. Gunners hoping to finally win the Premier League title after coming extremely close for two consecutive times are expecting four new players this summer market. Recently, Arsenal have been linked with Ferdi Kadioglu who is attracting a lot of big clubs due to his awesome performances for Turkey in Euro 2024.

Mikel Arteta’s side had a superb season but were unfortunate to lose the title by only two points. A lot of players impressed throughout the season and have secured their place next season too. However, some stars failed to impress Mikel Arteta and are now linked with an away move. Arteta is monitoring all the available options to replace the departing stars.

Aaron Ramsdale is very close to bid Arsenal farewell. The Gunners are linked with Dutch keeper Justin Bijlow and are hoping to make him backup for David Raya. Eddie Nketiah is set to leave Emirates and Gabriel Jesus’s future is also uncertain. The North London side had been linked with various strikers. The most heavily linked name was Benjamin Sesko. However that move has failed as Sesko wants to continue with Leipzig. Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny are the two midfielders who can be on their way out this summer. Jorginho has signed a contract extension. However Arteta feels a need to sign another top midfielder. The fourth position which Arteta wants to fill is full back.

Arsenal making move for Ferdi Kadioglu

According to reports, Oleksandr Zinchenko is very likely to be sold by Gunners after failing to impress Arteta. The Ukrainian international joined from City two years ago. However last season Zinchenko lost his place as regular starter in Arteta’s side. Kieran Tierney who is another left back spent the entire season on loan for Real Sociedad. He is very certain to be sold permanently by Gunners. Arteta has Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu who can play as a left back but the Spaniard wants to sign a natural player in that position.

According to Ajansspor, Arsenal have submitted an opening bid of ÂŁ17 million to Fenerbahce to sign Ferdi Kadioglu. However Fenerbahce will not let Kadioglu go for less than ÂŁ34 million. The 24 year old fullback has been brilliant in two of Turkey’s Euro fixtures. He is highly versatile and can play as left back, midfielder and winger which makes him key asset for any team.

Arsenal will be facing competition from Borussia Dortmund for the Turkish international. Dortmund failed to sign Ian Maatsen who played important role in their Champions League run last season. The German club has now turned their attention to Kadioglu.

Kadioglu has been one of the Turkey’s best players in the competition so far. He has started both of the Euro fixtures. Against Georgia, Kadioglu was unstoppable. He achieved 7.5 rating. Kadioglu had total 92 touches throughout the game. The 24 year old full back earned 94% passing accuracy as he completed 66 out of 70 attempted passes. He delivered 2 long balls. Kadioglu helped the team offensively by providing 4 key passes and creating 1 big chance. He was also effective in defense and made 3 interceptions, 2 tackles, winning 2 ground duels and 1 ariel duel. Turkey won the match 3-1.

After Georgia, Turkey were hoping to grab 3 more points and eventually qualify for round of 16 against Portugal. Unfortunately they lost the game 3-0. However Kadioglu had an impressive performance personally as he was Turkey’s second best player. He made 4 clearances, 4 tackles and 2 interceptions along with winning 7 out of 10 ground duels. Offensively Kadioglu was very good as he managed to provide 1 key pass and complete 3 out of 3 attempted dribbles. It won’t be a surprise if we see Fenerbahce receiving more offers for the Turkish international.
