Reports suggest that Arsenal might have to battle it out with Barcelona in the transfer window for signing the Foxes’ midfielder. Reports suggest that Barcelona are looking to sign new midfielders this January window. They have an interest in Manchester City‘s Ilkay Gundogan. It might be difficult to sign him this window as his contract won’t be expiring till the summer. Another option they are looking at is Leicester City‘s Youri Tielemans. Although it is claimed that Arsenal is leading in the line of signing the midfielder.
Arsenal leading the race to sign the midfielder ahead of Barcelona
Arsenal have been linked with the Belgian for quite some time. It has been reported that Arsenal had wanted to sign the player last transfer window as well. It looks like the deal might go through as Tielemans’ contract is up in the summer. According to a Catalan newspaper, Barcelona are also interested in signing the Belgian, though Arsenal are said to be in a leading position to sign him. Arsenal can sign him for free next summer.
Nothing is set in stone yet for Arsenal. Barcelona might try and scoop in for the midfielder this January window. But right now according to the reports Tielemans is still an idea for the Spanish club and Arsenal are ahead in the race to sign him.
