According to the Mirror, new Arsenal transfer targets emerge in this transfer window and these can be game changing for the gunners. Arsenal have already completed two of their signings this summer transfer window. Their first big signing completed this summer was the Italian sensation Riccardo Calafiori. The Italian defender got his breakout season last year under Thiago Motta. Calafiori helped Bologna secure fifth place in Serie A last season which will guarantee them Champions League football this season. The defender was a integral part of Thiago Motta’s squad last season. Calafiori is a very versatile defender who can play as a center back and left back. This summer Calafiori was also called up by Italian National team for their Euro 24 campaign. It was at this time the defender got famous all around the world. The defender also got famous for his resemblance with Italian legendary defender Paolo Maldini.
The second signing that Arsenal managed to secure this season was goalkeeper David Raya. After Aaron Ramsdale missed out majority of the matches last season. Raya stepped up for the Gunners as a dependable guy between the sticks. The goalkeeper move was made permanent by Arsenal by his performances last season. Last season Arsenal had the best defensive record in the Premier League. The Gunners only conceded 29 goals last season. Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta will hope to keep up this impressive record in the next season as well. Majority of credit for the Arsenal defense goes to the center back duo of William Saliba and Gabriel. Saliba has already cemented himself as one of the best center backs in the Premier League. The French defender stood like a wall last season for Arsenal. Gabriel also proved to be a good partner for the Frenchmen in front of the goal.
Swedish Arsenal transfer targets needed by Mikel Arteta
Saliba was also called up by French National team for their Euro 24 campaign. However the Frenchmen managed to keep up his form in the International stage as well. French national team had one of the best defensive records in the whole tournament. The team were unlucky after losing to Spain in a thrilling match. Another man who deserves the credit for Arsenal’s impressive performances is Declan Rice. The English midfielder came as a big signing from West Ham United. However Rice instantly transformed the Arsenal squad and become a fan favourite in the club. Rice stand like a towering presence in front of the Arsenal’s defense. The players ability to break counter attacks, make tackles and interceptions and keep the possession of the ball is top class. Declan Rice was also unlucky to lose the Euro 24 final against Spanish team.
Arsenal now have a very strong defense and midfield for the next season. However their attack will always remain a concerning factor for the Gunners. Arsenal still don’t have a proper striker to provide them goals on big matches. Their star winger Saka is still young and cannot be given all the responsibilities. Arsenal are now targeting Newcastle United’s record signing Alexander Isak. The Swedish international is one of the best players in the league. However his price tag can prove to be too high for the Gunners. Newcastle United will ask for at least £100million for the striker. This is too big of a sum for any club. Arsenal are also targeting Sporting CP’s Victor Gyokeres. The player scored 41 goals in all competitions last season. Gyokeres also helped his team win the league title and was an important part of team. Price tag of Gyokeres will be  £86m.
