According to Metro, Arsenal will sign Sporting Lisbon’s Victor Gyokeres as a replacement for Eddie Nketiah. The gunners are set for a new season and are ready to keep up their form from last season. Arsenal were unlucky last season after they finished as runner ups twice in a row. Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City squad are too much for the rest of the Premier League to handle. Man City win three consecutive Premier League titles in a row including one treble. They were on their way to win another treble last season before losing to Real Madrid in the quater finals. However Pep Guardiola’s City team cannot be underestimated in next season in Premier League campaign.
Good thing for Arsenal is all of their signings performed last season. The duo of Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard create havoc in the midfield last season. After starting out as Pep Guardiola’s assistant, Arteta is now his only competitor in the league. The question is will the student dethrone the master next season. Mikel Arteta deserves credit for maintaining the best defensive record last season in the Premier League.
Arsenal will sign Nketiah’s replacement
Arsenal only conceded 29 goals last season. This impressive record shows how much their defense has improved. The duo of Gabriel and William Saliba stood like a wall in the Arsenal defense line. The stability in defense brought by Declan Rice also helped the defense in many ways. It is clear now that Arsenal need to make improvements in their attack. Arsenal were unlucky after their target Benjamin Sesko decided to stay at RB Leipzig by signing new contract. They other targets Victor Osimhen and Alexander Isak are too expensive options to consider signing. Arsenal decided to choose the other option of signing a winger to help Saka and provide competition on wing. Saka is already been criticized for his performances in his Euro 24 campaign. Many football fans are still doubting over Gareth Southgate’s selection of his starting lineup for England. Saka has improved his game a lot.

He is linked with many other English clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City. Sporting Lisbon are expecting to start a bidding war for the forward with his release clause at £80m. Arsenal want to quickly sign the player in order to avoid inflation of his price. Arsenal already have their defense sorted for the next season with the addition of Riccardo Calafiori in their back line. Now Arsenal’s main focus will be to improve their attack. Arsenal struggle to score consistent goals especially on big games. This is affecting the team.
