Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson has been praised by James Maddison and Jadon Sancho. Reiss Nelson scored twice against Nottingham Forest.

This was also his first goal of this season. Hence, a number of teammates congratulated him for his brilliant display.

THE RISE OF REISS NELSON UNDER MIKEL ARTETA

Arsenal sent Reiss Nelson on loan to the Dutch giants Feyenoord last season. This was done to give him regular game time last season to develop his game. Hence, the loan spell helped the winger. He helped the Dutch giants reach the final of the Europa Conference league. However, there were rumors that Arsenal were open to selling him in the summer transfer.

Although, the reality is Mikel Arteta rejected all the loan and permanent bids to sell him in the summer. However, Nelson also suffered a thigh injury. The injury kept him out for the start of the season. However, in recent weeks he is starting to make a real impact from the bench. He is also providing much-needed squad depth to Mikel Arteta. Hence, it looks like Arsenal hierarchy and Arteta made the correct decision by not selling or loaning out Reiss Nelson.

THE FUTURE OF THE WINGER AT ARSENAL

Reiss Nelson has to continue putting in good displays for the Gunners. This is because his contract with the club is expiring in the next summer transfer window. Another problem is Arteta also wants to sign a new right-winger. Hence, Reiss Nelson has to find a way that Arsenal will understand his value in the first-team squad for the present and the future.

However, it looks like his teammates indirectly want him to have a new contract. Players like James Maddison, Jadon Sancho, and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano praised him for his display against Nottingham Forest. Hence, it will not be a surprise if Mikel Arteta starts him in the next Premier League match. Arsenal plays their arch-rivals, Chelsea, in their next match.

Arsenal will hope to have Bukayo Saka back from injury. However, Reiss Nelson can be the perfect player to start the games in his absence. The reports also claim that Mikel Arteta is also ready to start Nelson as he impressed him in the training sessions.
