Arsenal’s first signing of the summer is ‘accidentally’ announced on social media

Arsenal, Six Sports

Arsenal have not yet officially announced any signing this summer. However, it seems that work has been done on social media.

It would be a crucial time up ahead in the summer transfer market for Arsenal. The Gunners narrowly missed out on the Champions League berth for next season to Tottenham.

Therefore, it would be a huge challenge in front of Mikel Arteta to elevate the team to Champions League next season.

Moreover, there would be the hope of silverware in the Arsenal camp this time. The pressure would be to perform well in the Europa League.

Therefore, the summer transfer window provides an opportunity for Arteta to strengthen his side to match the level of the European competition.

Arsenal had the shortcoming of squad depth this season. Moreover, the forward position would also be given prominence as both Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are said to be leaving the Emirates.

While speaking about the summer transfer market Arteta said,” We are going to have certain resources, not unlimited resources, some resources.”

And with our resources we have to play and do what we have to do in the best possible way. We don’t know what the rest are going to have in terms of resources, which I’m assuming is going to be challenging because now it’s not a top three or top four league. Now it is a top eight or 10 teams that are involved. That’s why we have to find a way to do again what we did last summer.”

Who is the first signing for Arsenal this summer?

While there has been hype about new signings, Arsenal are also concerned about players leaving them. One of them includes Bernd Leno.

The German goalkeeper fell out of favour from Arteta and did not get too many starts this season. Aaron Ramsdale was preferred ahead of him.

Therefore, for his departure, a replacement has been lined in place. That player is Matt Turner whose move from New England Revolution has already been announced by the MLS side.

However, there was no confirmation from Arsenal.

On the other hand, it seems the USMNT has accidentally announced the transfer on their official Twitter handle.

They tweeted,” We can’t forget the Gunners! Sup, @Arsenal fans?” It remains to be seen when the North London side will announce his signing, but with an agreement in place, it could be within days.”
