Ashwin left behind after testing positive for Covid-19

Just before boarding the flight for England, India off-spinner R Ashwin has tested positive for Covid-19.

He is now under quarantine and will be missing India’s practice game against Leicestershire.

BCCI hopes that Ashwin will recover in time for the 5th India vs England Test.

India is currently leading 2-1 in the series after it was abruptly stopped last year as a result of Covid-19.

The Test squad has already started practising for the practice match as well as the Edgbaston Test.

After the Test series, India will engage with England in a limited-overs series.

The team for Ireland by the 23rd or 24th of June as they have been given a 3-days rest by the board.

Paras Mhambrey and Vikram Rathour are overlooking the practice sessions.

Even Rahul Dravid and Rishabh Pant have reached England and travelled to Leicester yesterday to join the Test squad.

VVS Laxman will be overlooking the T20I squad in Ireland.
