Former Pakistani batter Waqar Yunis expressed. He said that Rohit Sharma the Indian skipper has an edge over Babar at the International level. Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam will be captaining their sides in the much-awaited IND vs PAK match. Moreover, both teams will meet on the game ground where they met last year in the world cup.
Waqar Younis talked about Babar and Rohit’s importance in the run-making for their respective teams. Although Younis ranked Indian skipper over his country skipper Babar Azam. Waqar Younis made this comparison keeping in mind Rohit’s workload and playing under the likes of Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.
While speaking to telegraph India Younis said
“We all know how crucial Rohit and Babar are when it comes to scoring big runs for their teams and the importance they carry in terms of putting up performances of significance, But, captaincy-wise, Rohit has an edge over Babar because he has had a longer period as a senior Team India member and played under good captains as well. So that experience bodes well for Rohit,”
Rohit’s appointment as Captain

Now, the new captain is just two wins away from be the most successful captain. He is just behind the most successful captain of the country MS Dhoni. Dhoni retired in august 2020. In 35 T20Is, Rohit has made sure wins. The Men in Blue has won 29 matches with a win percentage of 82.9. However, Babar has led the men in green to win only 26 matches in 41 games played. He has a win percentage of 72.25.
Although these are just numbers, both teams will be looking to play an amazing game on the 28th of Aug. Pakistan and India both will be playing without the services of their main fast bowlers.
