The Sri Lankan fielding coach Anton Roux put out a post on his Instagram account. He gave out news of the Sri Lankan pacer’s absence. In the Instagram post, the coach informed the fans about the injury. in addition, He also expressed How much the team would miss him. With the Asia cup just a few days away, a major setback for team Sri Lanka. The fast bowling option of the Sri Lankan team Dushmantha Chameera has been ruled out. Furthermore, he is going to miss the whole tournament and might as well not play the T20WC. Furthermore, Afridi was injured due to a knee injury playing against Sri Lanka in a test match.

Coach on Chameera’s absence

The Lankan fielding coach had put an Instagram post where he reported Chameera’s injury and ruling out of the much anticipated tournament. Coach also acknowledged pacers’ kindness and humility towards others. He expressed sadness over the injury and also wished him good luck in the future. Coach termed this phase as a lonely phase of any professional cricketer’s life. In the Instagram post, he wrote

So gutted for him about his injury which rules him out of the Asia Cup, but I’m sure Dushy will bounce back stronger for the World Cup in Australia come October. The Lankan lions are among the top contenders for winning the Asia cup this year. The Lankans have some top class players featuring in the tournament this time. Sri Lanka will this time look to secure their 6th title in the Asia cup.
