The Assam cricket association last hosted an international game between India and Sri Lanka in early 2020. However, the match was washed off due to the rain and no result was achieved. At the same time, they were addressing these issues of rain. The senior official from the association had said they had made all the arrangements to avoid the time lost in the middle. The arrangements include importing pitch covers for better coverage.

While talking to the media the ACA secretary Devajit Saikia told PTI. The ACA has imported two very lightweight rain covers from the US. Along with this the association also has 20 spare covers for its use.

“These imported covers ensure that water or moisture does not seep into the pitch.”

Crowd expectations at Stadium

He added, the ground has been handed over to the BCCI chief curator since 16 September. He has been taking care of the whole field including the pitch where the message is to be played. Furthermore, while talking to the media He added a large amount of crowd is expected to show up for the encounter between India and South Africa. While talking about the sale of ticked Saikia said

“The first batch of online tickets has been sold out. We will open another batch on September 26, The stadium can accommodate 39,000 people, out of which around 8,000 seats are reserved as complimentary passes for different agencies, state bodies, sponsors, and other invitees.”

Saikia also expressed the arrangements and developments that are made keeping in mind the festive time. The schedule also coincides with Gandhi Jayanti and Durga Puja.

“Under the instruction of the chief minister, ACA has already held three rounds of talks with the district administration, police, and other agencies. A traffic plan is being chalked out to ensure minimum inconvenience to the public.”
