Current Newcastle united’s rival Aston Villa for the Champions League spot set to lose a very important player of their team.
Newcastle united’s Premier League rivals Aston Villa are very close to complete an agreement with Juventus to sell their best midfielder Douglas Luis and replace him with Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior. It will be swap deal which means Aston Villa will sell one player and will buy two players from the same club.
Juventus will also offer some money to Aston Villa as part of the deal to buy Luiz. The Brazilian star has been in the wishlist from a number of clubs with some reports claims earlier this year that Aston Villa have put a price tag of 100m on him and there were strong claims from Arsenal to buy the player last season but it faded away in this transfer window as they did not even shown an interest to buy the player.
Aston Villa are improving the overall quality of their team and also their financials
The Gunners were very interested in the player in the summer of 2022, they even submitted three bids for the brazilin but all the bids were rejected by Villa. It also shows that Gunners were very interested in the player. The midfielder also does not wanted to leave the club and he signed a long-term deal with Villa’s to give the club a stronger hand in any future transfer business. The highest offer that Arsenal gave was 25m but now the price of the player have increased.
There are reports that claims that Aston Villa are asking for 50m for the player, along with two players named McKennie and Iling-Junior. Last season Villa finished fourth in the premier league which means they will play champions league this season. They finished fourth over some big clubs like Chelsea, Man United, Newcastle united and Tottenham Hotspur and this season too they want to beat all the clubs and to do so they need to improve their squad.
There are some reports that claims that Aston Villa have reported a loss of 119.6m last year. This is bad for them that’s why it is important to sell their best player in order to recover the losses.
The owner of Aston Villa still committed to the long term plans and the development of the club. All the plans will continue as they planed and they are looking forward to continue the progress of the plans they made. He also said we will try to cover the losses but it will not affect the development of the squad.
Douglas Luis’s services no longer required in Aston Villa
Fans are thinking that selling Luiz will be a bad thing for the club but that is not the case because they are only selling one player and in return they will receive two player and 50m, which means that they bought two player for just free. By doing this it will help them to balance the books and the 50m which they will receive will deducted from the loses they suffer which will help the club to overcome some of the financial pressure.
They signed the midfielder for just 15m from Man City in 2019, and he renewed his contract with Villa till 2026. This also gives the club an upper hand to increase their profits.
A report from Fabrizio Romano claims that an agreement between the two clubs over the deal is in the final stages, on the other hand Juventus are currently negotiating the personal terms with Luiz, it’s just the matter of time.
