Aston Villa are eyeing for Brighton defender Yves Bissouma. Manchester United are ready to swoop in for Bissouma as they prepare for a rebuild under Erik Ten Hag.
Villa are on red alert as Manchester United have shown interest in their transfer targets. Erik Ten Hag is to be the manager of United next season and he intends to bring in a couple of players. One of the players on his list happens to be Bissouma who has been crucial for Brighton this season. Villa have had positive talks with Brighton over Bissouma. However, with United stepping in, Villa are in panic mode as the player could opt for United over Villa.
Bissouma is in the final year of his contract and would be available for a measly price. Villa needs to go all in and negotiate with the defender if they are to have his services. However, they face competition from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal – mostly United.
Steven Gerrard hints on Bissouma
Steven Gerrard has hinted on Bissouma transfer a while ago.
“Incomings, the window was extremely strong, There were areas that we needed to find solutions for us to be stronger and better, We got 90/95% of business done that we wanted to get done in the window.
I’m delighted with the support from the board, It was well documented that we put in a bid for Bissouma at Brighton which was turned away, and we respected and appreciated. If a move is not right then we will not become desperate and make a decisions that we do not think is right. If it’s not right at the time we might have to be patient in a few situations.”
Manchester United have also shown interest in Villa midfielder John McGinn. According to reports, the midfielder is one of the players on Erik Ten Hag’s list. Villa are on a collision course if they let United hijack whomever they please.
