According to The Chelsea Chronicle, it is reported that Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion can leave Spain for the Premier League. The player is strongly linked with Chelsea in London. After reports of Atletico Madrid signing Alexander Sørloth and Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez, Omorodion can make his exit this summer. Atletico Madrid are doing some serious business this summer. Their first signing of the summer was Real Sociedad defender Robin Le Normand. The defender was also included in the Spanish team for their Euro 24 campaign. Normand was a regular starter for the team and provided great stability to the Spanish defender. Normand played a vital role in helping Spain win the Euros.
Atletico Madrid’s next signing of the summer was Alexander Sørloth from Villareal. The forward is an exceptional player after missing out on winning the top scorer by just one goal. Sørloth scored 23 goals in the La Liga last season which is more than Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, Robert Lewandowski. Moreover Sørloth scored four goals against Real Madrid in a single match. Atletico Madrid’s next two signings are from Premier league which are Conor Gallagher from Chelsea and Julian Alvarez from Manchester City.
New big signings for Atletico Madrid
Conor Gallagher recently completed his move to Atletico Madrid. After all the transfer drama regarding the Chelsea midfielder, the deal was finally confirmed. Many fans do not like the way Chelsea forced Conor Gallagher out of the club. However, it is reported that Gallagher was told by Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca that he is not included in his plans for next season. Chelsea also needs to sell some players to avoid the Financial Fair Play rules of the Premier League. Game time of young players like Romeo Lavia would have suffer a lot due to Conor Gallagher.
The signing of Julian Alvarez by Atletico Madrid was a totally unexpected one. It has not been a very long time since Alvarez came to Manchester City. The Argentinian striker was signed in the same transfer window as Erling Haaland. Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola is often criticized for not giving Julian Alvarez proper game time. Julian Alvarez won the World Cup in 2022 in Argentina’s historic campaign. The Argentinian striker will be a regular starter for almost any team in the world. Manchester City are also getting almost triple the price they paid to sign Julian Alvarez.
Samu Omorodion is leaving due to new signings
Now that Atletico Madrid have signed two world class strikers, it will be very tough for Samu Omorodion to get play time in the squad. Atletico Madrid striker partnership will be deadly for the next season. It will be a wise move for Samu Omorodion to move to a better club. Moreover Chelsea can be the perfect club for the striker. Chelsea have been looking for a striker since last season. After deal of Victor Osimhen fell off and Romelu Lukaku was also reportedly leaving. Samu Omorodion can become a cheaper option for Chelsea’s striker problem. The new manager Enzo Maresca will also approve of the signing.
However as of now Nicolas Jackson looks like the starting option in the striker position for next season. The Chelsea youngster has improved his game a lot since last season. However the youngster still lacks the end product required to be a world class striker. Samu Omorodion reportedly confirmed on his Instagram story that he will be leaving Atletico Madrid this summer. The striker will cost at a cheap price of around £35m for Chelsea. Marc Guiu is also an option for Enzo Maresca to start in the striker position. The youngster was featured in Chelsea’s pre-season and even scored.
