Aurelien Tchouameni is reportedly edging closer to signing a deal with Real Madrid this summer from Monaco.
The youngster has turned out to be one of the big names doing the rounds in Europe since arriving from Bordeaux in 2020. He was brought to Monaco for a fee of £16.2million.
Tchouameni was on the score sheet five times with Monaco last season and also provided 3 assists from the 50 outings that he made in all competitions for the club.
His consistent performances even earned him a place on the France national team. Moreover, he earned his tenth cap yesterday while playing against Croatia which they drew 1-1.
English powerhouses Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool are all said to be in the race to sign the player.
The French midfielder should be out of contract next season.
Moreover, transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano reports that Real Madrid are now confident to sign the youngster from France.
The transfer fee that has to be paid by Real to acquire Tchouameni is said to be £68m.
Romano adds that Tchouameni has agreed to the deal on personal terms. Now, it is up to the clubs to negotiate a fee to sign the player in the up coming weeks.
What did Aurelien Tchouameni have to say about his future?
The Monaco starlet was reportedly asked about his future by Telefoot. However, he replied that he had ‘not yet’ made a decision on his future.
He said,” I’m not troubled by that (rumours), because it’s a position I’ve always wanted to be in. As long as I’m followed by the top clubs, that means I’m doing good things.”
If Tchouameni is to move to the Los Blancos, he is going to follow a similar route that his compatriot followed when he came from Rennes.
Tchouameni and France are on the lookout for their first win in the UEFA Nations League when they face Austria on Friday.
