Australian Meg Lanning: The New Number 1  batter in ICC newly Published T20I Rankings, Six Sports

Its over for Beth Mooney to rule the chart, as Meg Lanning has cleared he way to the top in the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings released on Tuesday. The Australian Captain has moved one spot ahead and clinched the first position in the T-20I batters’ rankings. It came as a reward for her 113 runs she scored from two innings against Ireland. The weather in Ireland wasn’t supporting enough, put a dampener on much of the series, but Lanning showed her class.

An easy victory came against the Irish at Bready as she scored a speedy 74 of just 49 balls. It helped Australia to put a massive total of 182 on the board, making things tough for Ireland.

However, lefty Mooney just scored 9 runs that dropped her down at the second sport in the chart. Lanning’s teammate Tahila McGrath jumped from 15 places to 13th sport in the T-20I rankings, after she scored two consecutive half centuries against Ireland.

On the other hand, South African batters too experienced giant striped in the ICC rankings. South African trio Laura Wolvaardt, Anne Bosch and Tazmin Brits moved to 14th, 21st and 24th spot despite of facing a clean sweep against England.

ICC T20I Bowlers Rankings: Brunt to the third

England played South Africa as a warm up series before the Commonwealth Games. England sealed it by 3-0, with veteran pacer Katherine Brunt as the leading wicket taker. She bagged 5 wickets in the series. As a result, she moved four steps ahead to the third block in the T-20I rankings as a bowler.

Her teammate Ecclestone took 5 wickets too in the series, and her glorious presence with the bat took her to the 16th spot in the all-rounder’s rank.

Aussie spinner Jess Jonassen rose to the sixth spot in the bowlers’ list, where as Ashleigh Gardner moved three places to 7th as an all rounder in the list.
