Barcelona have managed to register Andreas Christensen and three other new players ahead of the new season. This is despite their current financial crisis at the club.
Despite the economic problems, the club have signed five new players. They are also now trying to sign two or three new players more this summer transfer window.
BARCELONA FINALLY REGISTER THEIR NEW SIGNINGS
According to official statements, Barcelona have managed to register four new signings ahead of the new season. However, they are still waiting to register France defender Jules Kounde. The club have also managed to register Sergio Roberto and Ousmane Dembele. Both players were free agents before they re-signed new contracts with the club.
The club have activated four economic levers this season to sign new players and register them. La Liga allowed the club to register Raphinha, Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, and Robert Lewandoski. All the players played in the 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano in the season opener. However, there are still some things that need to be done by Barcelona to avoid further problems.
THE CATALAN CLUB STILL WANT TO SIGN NEW PLAYERS IN THE WINDOW
Barcelona wants to reportedly sign two or three new players. The club wants to sign Marcos Alonso, Bernardo Silva, and a new right-back. They have already agreed a deal for Marcos Alonso. However, he needs to be registered. Whereas, Manchester City are asking 100 million for Bernardo Silva. Hence, a deal is being negotiated for a lower price. Both the players have already agreed personal terms with the club.
Nevertheless, Xavi is happy with the new signings that have already arrived Barcelona. He is also happy the problems of registration have been solved. He said, ” We still have up to two hours before kick-off. The club is doing a tremendous effort. I’m very happy and excited with the new signings and the team we have built. The club have just announced the activation of the fourth economic lever.
However, the club will still need to sell more players. They will also need to reduce some players existing wages. Work has already started on it. Memphis Depay and Frenkie De Jong are reportedly close to leaving in the next few days. Whereas, Gerrard Pique has again agreed to salary reduction with the club.
