GARY LINEKER VOWED BY THE BEAUTIFUL ASSIST OF LIONEL MESSI
Barcelona legend Gary Lineker was taken aback by Lionel Messi following his assist for Paris Saint-Germain. The forward provided a beautiful assist and scored a goal in the 3-1 Champions League win against Maccabi Haifa. He was the star for PSG in their win over the Israeli club. His assist for the goal of Kylian Mbappe for the Parisians second was the most impressive.
Gary Lineker was also impressed with the assist. He said,
“Another goal for Kylian Mbappe. Another goal created by Messi, who’s had more assists in 2022 than any player in Europe’s top 5 leagues. Still life in the old 🐐.
The Israeli opponents tried to come back in the match. However, the brilliance of Lionel Messi swept them away.
THE SEVEN-TIME BALLON D’OR SETS TWO NEW CHAMPIONS LEAGUE RECORDS
Messi’s performance against the Israeli side means he has scored against 39 different teams in Europe’s elite competition. His fierce competitor Cristiano Ronaldo has goals against 38 clubs. However, Ronaldo’s number will not increase as he is playing in the Europa League with Manchester United. Therefore, Messi will now have a chance to create more records this season.
Paris Saint-Germain are hungry for the Champions League this season. They have managed to keep all three superstars at the club. Lionel Messi will be hoping to win his first Champions League in seven years. Hence, PSG are now the favorites to win the competition for all good reasons. They will be looking to avoid a disaster like Real Madrid of the last season.
Records are not safe against the legendary forward. The Argentine continues to amaze his supporters with his match-changing performances. He has started this season in extraordinary form. The forward has scored five goals and has provided eight assists in 10 appearances.
